It’s always fun to see what’s important to kids. I remember growing up all the things I couldn’t live without. I was a serious tomboy always trying to keep up with my older brother who was (and still is) my idol. I loved transformers and those little green army men….also couldn’t live without my Yoda figurine and my Lego! When I remember growing up on Avondale in Waterloo I think of potato guns and firecrackers, slingshots and dinky cars. We planted a chestnut in the backyard of our old house and every time I drive down that street I have to slow down and admire how enormous and strong that tree is today. Makes me smile.
What was important to these little wonders were a sweet little stuffed monkey and a pretty cool marble collection and a teeny tiny snow white polar bear. I hope these photos will be a meaningful keepsake that will remind them of the wonderful feeling of just being a kid.
