My dear friend Sarah called me up a few weeks ago and asked if I would take some photographs for her portfolio. Sarah is a make up artist and she wanted to create some new looks for the current wedding season. I jumped at the chance to work with her. My girlfriend Hilary and I were chatting the other day about how much we love people in love. I am a wedding photographer because it gives me joy to photograph happy people that are in love and telling the whole world about it. Jenny and Einar stood in front of my camera and without saying a word to them I snapped the first two shots of the day below. They remain my favourites from the entire day and I think they show exactly what their love looks like. Beautiful and genuine.

Jenny and Einar had a backyard affair and it was so wonderful to walk amongst their friends and meet so many fascinating people. Jenny has 4 siblings and they and their families were the most delightful people.

What gorgeous photos!!!
The story of how Julie and Will met gives me goosebumps. It was truly a meeting that seemed to be constructed by fate. I know from my own experience, meeting my husband Jerry, that when it seems so random yet so purposeful you are overwhelmed with this feeling that you are on the right path. That you belong together even though the road twists and turns threatening to pull you apart. It’s like you have a secret that no one else could ever know or understand. It is happiness.
Julie’s ring is spectacular. So elegant. On our walk back to the cars when our shoot was done we came across a garden with these gorgeous peonies. Julie will have peonies in her bouquet which makes me happy.
I am looking so forward to your wedding in July! xx

Julie & Will- The #8 photo on my screen is a close up of both your faces – that’s my favorite. Nice fun variety in all the other photos will add many happy memories to Julie’s scrapbook,but in years to come you will want to see ‘the way we were’, trust me I often look at my 55 years ago engagement picture and while you are looking ahead, I am looking back.
It is going to be one happy day July 9,2011.

You might remember Kelly and Jamie from their engagement session last year. After working with them I knew we were going to have a crazy fun time on their wedding day. Kelly is beautiful and unbelievably charismatic. EVERYONE loves her from the minute they meet her. Jamie is quiet and sweet and they compliment each other so well. Here are some favourites from their day.

This is my favourite photograph from the entire day. I remember loading the cards when I got home, VERY late at night, and this one jumping out at me.

Kerri and Dev have that sweet kind of love. The kind that high school sweethearts are made of…only they met in their 20′s. When you are around them it seems they are like two magnets in a room, always drawn to each other. If you were at their wedding then I know you know exactly what I mean. To say this day was full of sentiment would be an enormous understatement. It was a day that I will feel honoured to be part of for the rest of my life. I know for Kerri, the moments were filled with unparalleled joy and a deep sorrow. Her strength and her spirit are inspiring beyond words.
The ladies were simply exquisite in their steel grey gowns.
Hilary caught some incredibly fun moments with the junior groomsmen. Love these boys!!
Kerri and Dev decided to do a first look and see one another before the ceremony. It was and always is such a gorgeous experience when you see each other for the first time. I love the first look because it steals away all your nerves and reminds you what you have to look forward to in the hours to come.
Kerri’s dress was quite unique. I absolutely loved it!
There were some dancers hired to provide some entertainment and to kick off the reception. It was an incredible show!
